A New Rhythm for Jeff’s Place: What’s Coming Next

Updated October 17, 2026.

Three subjects keep drawing me back here: Cranky’s Game, smart home automation, and emergency management with AI. I want you to know when to look for something new, so Jeff’s Place is settling into a simple publishing schedule: one new post every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Central.

That gives each story a little room to breathe and gives me time to keep building, testing, and finding the next useful thing to share.

One Saturday, three subjects

I’ll rotate among these three threads:

  • Smart Home Automation: the platforms, devices, networks, and occasional stubborn light switch involved in making a connected home work reliably.
  • Emergency Management / AI: practical questions about preparedness, situational awareness, verification, exercises, and the people making decisions.
  • Cranky’s Game: what I’m building, what we’re testing, and the ideas taking shape around a family-friendly world with a three-legged turtle.

Each article takes the next available Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Central when it is ready to publish. That keeps the subjects flexible and lets the queue grow as new stories come together. If one series needs more time, a ready article from another subject can take the next open slot.

Publishing schedule: what’s coming next

The current queue begins with Smart Home on October 17, followed by Emergency Management / AI on October 24 and Cranky’s Game on October 31. Another Emergency Management / AI article is currently scheduled for November 7. All four dates are Saturdays, with posts planned for 9:00 a.m. Central.

As more articles are ready, the subject order may change. You can always find the latest dates and subjects in the Coming Up publishing schedule at the bottom of the homepage. It follows the posts actually scheduled, so it reflects changes to the queue.

At the end of each new article, I’ll point you toward what’s coming next. Thanks for following along. I hope this makes it easier to pick up whichever thread you enjoy most—and maybe wander into one of the others.
